My July councillor donation has been given to the Gorleston CCTV Volunteers, a dedicated team who quietly provide an invaluable service to our community.

I recently met Rona and the volunteer team, spending time inside their monitoring room to see first-hand how the operation works. It was genuinely impressive. The CCTV network covers key areas across Gorleston and the Magdalen, and the monitoring is carried out entirely by volunteers who give their time to help keep our neighbourhoods safe.

Their work supports local policing efforts, assists with incident reporting, and provides reassurance to residents and businesses. What struck me most was the professionalism, commitment, and pride the volunteers take in serving the community – often without recognition, and it was very clear to see the passion Rona has for what she does.

I’m pleased to support their efforts through my July month’s donation, and I want to thank every volunteer involved for the vital role they play in helping keep Gorleston safe.
